Abstract :
The shrinking defense budget is applying increasing pressure on the armed services for standardizing ATE. It is the goal of DOD to minimize unique types of ATE being introduced into field, depot and manufacturing operations. New DOD policies are making acquisition of non-standard ATE exceedingly difficult. Standardization of ATE for avionics and ground systems is well established, but only recently have guided munitions been included in standardization efforts.
