Abstract
The UK´s first PV facade demonstration project was installed at the University of Northumbria in the autumn of 1994. The 39.5 kWp PV power system is integrated into rainscreen overcladding on the South facade of one of the university buildings. This paper summarises the main design and installation features and discusses the performance of the power system over the first 15 months of operation. The variation of performance ratio with month and the estimated losses for the PV power system are discussed
