Abstract :
Due to concerns about multi-generation capabilities of MPEG audio, Tektronix has made a proposal to SMPTE for standardization of an uncompressed audio stream which can be carried within an MPEG-2 transport stream. This proposal defines an uncompressed audio elementary stream which is high quality (up to 24 bit/sample), multichannel (up to 8 channels) and which has very little overhead beyond the actual audio data
