Abstract :
The Financial Times (FT) has used the Internet to reengineer their business processes as an example of business process reengineering (BPR). This represents a merger of electronic commerce (EC) capabilities to reengineer interorganizational systems (IOS) such as business processes to improve overall performance. This example of Web based reengineering was seen to have a number of advantages with improved customer services, a significant reduction of costs of operations for the Syndication Department, and the opening up of new market opportunities. However, this example raises new risks and a number of challenges which have to be addressed
