Abstract :
Adopting a commercial illumination design software, we construct two solar simulators having light characteristic conforming to the solar simulator Class C of the Australian Standard AS 2915-1987 for solar cells testing. One simulator incorporates quartz tungsten halogen lamps and is used to measure static parameters of two types of monocrystalline silicon modules. The other simulator uses super bright light emitting diodes and is used in determining the IV characteristic of a monocrystalline silicon solar cell
