Abstract :
In order to study the field reliability of horizontal machining center (HMC), field reliability data for 14 HMC in an engine plant of large automobile manufacturing company in China over ten month is collected. Based on this data set, some simple plots method such as CP (the cumulative plot), MCF(mean cumulative function), RR(recurrence rate) and MCCF(mean cumulative cost function) are used to analyze graphically the reliability of the population of 14 HMC and some anomalous individual HMC. Then, the engineers who maintain this HMC can make a right decision easily according to this valuable information of HMC provided by simple plots methods.
