Abstract :
This paper presents a system-level analysis of the voltage shift brought about by both the front-end and secondary converters. It is shown that the noise caused by the front-end converter is worse than that from the voltage source inverter itself because it will propagate along the DC bus and penetrate to downstream converters. This paper presents the results of analyses, simulations and experiments on this type of noise, which behaves as common-mode low frequency zero sequence and high-frequency dv/dt in a three-phase rectifier and inverter. Ways to alleviate the problem and achieve high performance DC distribution are discussed
