Abstract
This paper reports on the extension of a previous similar attempt at performance evaluation of interconnected local area networks (LANs). It presents the performance analysis of interconnected CSMA/CD (Ethernet) LANs with a high speed network as the backbone. The LANs are connected to the backbone network via gateways. The analytical model is verified by simulation results
