Abstract
In accordance with the government´s policy, Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has been assigned to supply electricity service to all households in provincial areas within the year 2005. In the primary surveying, PEA found that approximately 440,000 households were not electrified, because there are some households scatter in remote area for example on islands or in the mountainous area, which is of very high investment. The Solar Home System Project has been improved for these problems. There are 203,000 households in the two year installation plan, which will be completed in year 2005. The total of power in this project is 24.36 MW. All of the investment shall be financed by the Government budget. Progress of project at the end of March 2006, PEA has established the Solar Home System to rural households about 161,159 households. For the remaining areas, (41,841 households) PEA will complete the project by December 2006
