Abstract
The problem of the control of a wind system considered as an isolated source of power is considered; the plant is composed of a wind-turbine, connected by means of a gearbox to a three-phase synchronous generator, and a control system. In order to simulate the behavior of the wind system, mathematical models of the wind-turbine and the electrical generator are used. To govern the wind system, the one-step-ahead adaptive control technique is adopted. The results of a control test case are shown in order to demonstrate the reliability of the proposed control technique
