Abstract
The monotonous PSOC (partial state of charging) test is not sufficient in Japan, because it can not accurately reflect the degradation mode of a storage battery in actual PV systems. To solve the problem, a new PSOC test pattern was developed, which has two current rates, the so called “modulated PSOC test pattern”. It was proved that the proposed pattern is the most effective for life time evaluation of a battery because it has a short test period, less than 30% of ordinary simple PSOC test methods, and reflects the same degradation mode as an actual PV system
