            Abstract : 
An efficient Sommerfeld´s integral approximation is used for calculating electric field in frequency domain based on modelling of a lightning channel by a vertical monopole antenna. Results for Sommerfeld´s integral kernel are compared to results from literature. Vertical and horizontal electric field components are calculated for a vertical current modelling lightning discharge channel at a lossy ground of different electrical parameters.
