Abstract :
This paper describes several case studies of the automated assembly of sub-miniature electro-mechanical products. The approach used in linking product design and manufacturing technology is explored with emphasis placed on process innovation. The case studies presented have been driven from manufacturing in order to prime the design/manufacturing loop with suitable processes for automation
