Abstract :
A cell fusion device was designed and fabricated by micromachining technology. The device has 18 pairs of 40 μm thick electrodes. It was designed for one-to-one based fusion. The polymer-molding and electroplating technique was applied for the fabrication of the cell fusion device. Dielectrophoretic force was used for attracting cells and making pearl chains. Electrofusion of two Chinese cabbage cells was successfully achieved by square pulsed electric fields. The electrofusion of cells was accomplished in 10 minutes
