Abstract :
A physically motivated, first order perturbation procedure for the scattered field due to a small cylinder in the neighborhood of an arbitrarily sized cylinder is postulated and implemented. The excitation is a plane wave and both circular cylinders are acoustically soft. Results are compared with the accurate solution from a modal boundary value problem
