Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to present models of electron emission that bridge basic concepts to their computational realization in emission models. Emphasis is placed on the relation of field emission to the other emission mechanisms, in particular thermal and photoemission. A number of complications and modifications to the Canon of Field Emission arise because of particulars related to electron sources and how they are used.
