This paper describes a system-level top-down methodology to analyze a complete radio frequency communication system. The proposed methodology allows us to derive the overall system specifications by using hardware description language VHDL-AMS simulations. The obtained specifications could be used to help engineers in designing O-QPSK transceiver for 2.4-GHz band IEEE 2802.15.4 ZigBee standard.
