Abstract :
In this paper, a successive interference canceller (SIC) is adopted for the performance enhancement of a multicarrier DS/CDMA system and its performance is analyzed in a Rayleigh fading channel. A successive interference canceller is employed for each subcarrier of a multicarrier DS/CDMA system and the outputs of SICs are combined through the maximal-ratio or equal-gain combining. Numerical results show that the considered system achieves a significant performance improvement over a conventional multicarrier DS/CDMA system. It is robust to the multiple access interference coupled with a near-far problem and therefore it achieves a significant increase in system capacity
