Abstract
This article presents paradigms for mobile applications and introduces a model-based development process, by which they can be effectively developed. With the proliferation of mobile devices such as Apple® iPhone® or BlackBerry®, business processes may be implemented in a mobile environment. Mobile applications operate in environments that place high demands on ergonomics and performance and are very different from those of desktop applications. These requirements are best met by custom-developed applications. The effort of implementation can be substantially reduced by utilizing methods such as code-generation.
