Abstract :
Many industrial processes are characterized as slow overdamped systems. The Laguerre functions are competent modeling technique for those systems. Simple relations are derived to calculate the time constant and order of the Laguerre functions that can provide accurate models. The proposed algorithm combines the variable regression estimation technique and the recursive least squares. Simulation results validate the proposed technique
