Abstract :
In this paper, the Giusepe Peano fractal geometry is applied to the slot antenna, as a novel method for the miniaturization and realization of wideband impedance bandwidth with stable radiation patterns and without any gain and efficiency degradation. An example of Giusepe Peano fractal slot antenna for the second iteration at operating frequency of 4 GHz has achieved a bandwidth of 5.9 GHz. The result of computer simulations and measurements data of a fabricated prototype model agree quite well and verify the proposed novel antenna structure. Furthermore, the antenna radiation performance is investigated for various directions of feed line relative to the slot orientation. It is observed that the case of feed line along the diagonal of fractal square slot provides the best radiation performance, namely the bandwidth increases to about 7 GHz.
