Abstract :
The electromagnetic scattering of a plane wave by a coated plate and a coated dihedral corner reflector are discussed in this paper. The solutions obtained here are based on the high frequency asymptotic method of Maliuzhinets method which is useful for diffraction problems. The two special functions used in this method, namely, Maliuzhinets function and Fresnel transition function are calculated by using tanh transformation and Jian-Ming Jing´s method. Several numerical results are given and it is shown that the method is better in calculating coated objects. The results are in good agreement with the reference values, which proves the validity of the method commendably.
