Abstract :
Sheet-beam slow-wave structures are inherently overmoded due to the large transverse dimension of the interaction region. This complicates the analysis and design of these structures, and produces a challenging set of data to piece through and analyze for the given mode. Experimental characterization is both necessary and necessarily difficult for these overmoded devices.
