Abstract :
A directly driven permanent-magnet wind generator was designed. The rated power of the generator was 500 kW at a synchronous rotational speed of 40 RPM. The electrical performance of the generator was calculated by the finite element method. The generator will be used with a frequency converter in order to allow variable speed operation
