Abstract :
The α-β tracking filter combined with ellipsoidal prediction using generalized Hough transform is proposed as a nonlinear prediction filter for manoeuvring target tracking. For track-while-scan systems, the reduction of prediction error is a very important issue. The purpose of this scheme is to achieve good noise reduction with a manoeuver-following capability. Simulation results for two target profiles are included for a comparison of the performances of our proposed scheme with that of conventional tracking filters
