Abstract
A novel Multiband CPW-Fed monopole antenna for multi input multi output (MIMO) application is presented. A simple fork-shaped CPW-Fed monopole antenna resonates in two frequency bands. The multi-band antenna is obtained with adding an inverted U-shaped strip on it. The proposed antenna covers frequency bands including UMTS, Bluetooth, WLAN and WiMAX application, centered at 2.4, 3.5 and 5.5 GHz. A two element array of antenna with close spacing of λg/5 is suitable for MIMO application. The array has low mutual coupling, low envelope correlation, high efficiency and good radiation patterns over all frequency bands. The antenna parameters and simulation with measured results are presented.
