  • Abstract
    Weighting method by window function is used in order to improve the properties of the code in polyphase pulse compression Radars. This paper investigates and compares the effect of weighting methods in frequency domain and in amplitude, with Hamming window, on three common types of codes namely; Frank, P3 and P4 polyphase codes. It is shown that the weighting in the frequency domain improves the properties of the Frank and P3 codes, but has negative impacts P4 code. Amplitude weighting on the other hand, improve the properties of both P3 and P4 codes, but increases the sidelobes near the signal peak in the Frank code.
