Abstract
In this paper, a novel voltage space vector modulation (SVM) method for three-level PWM VSI is proposed. By proper coordinate transformation, instead of conventional voltage space vector d-q reference frame, a line voltage reference frame is used to determine the position of the reference voltage space vector, and the corresponding function time of vector can be calculated according to volt-second equivalent principle. Comparing with the conventional voltage SVM, the method is easy to be realized without complex computation and also it is very convenient to be extended for five-level and multi-level inverter. The feasibility of this new method is verified by simulation results.
