Abstract :
In this paper a 4 kV solid-state switch is proposed for telecommunication applications. This switch is constructed by series connection of MOSFETs. Rise and fall time are very important in repetitive pulse power devices. This switch has Rise time lower than 20 ns and fall time lower than 80 ns, which is tailored for telecommunication purposes. Using a special new circuitry, a power switch topology is proposed. Simulation results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme. A prototype is also implemented and the experimental results show the validity of the proposed method.
