Abstract
A description is given of the Leaders for Manufacturing Program, an innovative program being conducted jointly by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology´s School of Management and School of Engineering. The program represents a partnership between MIT and eleven major US corporations. It includes a graduate, dual-degree master´s program as well as a research program in manufacturing. The vision and mission of the program, some of the details of the academic and research agendas, and the structure and operation of the partnership between the two schools at MIT and the eleven industrial partners are described
