Abstract :
By analyzing the traditional portable coordinate measuring machines´ calibration method based on 1D master artifact, the problems associated with it is discussed. Based on this conclusion, a new type of PCMM calibration method based on 3D master artifact is introduced. The validity and feasibility of the method is discussed in detail. The method proposed by this paper will be helpful in extending the PCMMs, and may leading to a new standard of calibration.
