Abstract :
The multi-purpose gymnasium of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University is one of gymnasium for holding volleyball competition in the 16th Games of Asia. The acoustical design and the measured acoustical parameter of the gymnasium are presented in this paper in detail. The sound field characters of voluminous spaces like gymnasia and some technical measures for improving the speech intelligibility inside the spaces are also investigated. Lastly, the research key points and methods for the acoustics of gymnasia are pointed out.
