Abstract :
This paper presents the mechanism production of the secondary moments of prestressed continuous beam. Generally, the prestressed secondary moments are calculated by subtracting the primary moments from the result moments, which involves extensive calculations. Based on the moment area method and deformation compatibility principle, the second moments can be figured out directly and simply and the calculated values are in good agreement with the equivalent load method. The article provides practical engineers with a new method to calculate the secondary moments .
