Abstract :
Model predictive control is an effective method for systems with time-delay. In this paper, we present a new idea of predicting the reference in the future by its past behavior. Simulation results show the advantage of the new method. Whereas the method is limited when tracking a fast-varying signal, a switching control helps to compensate for the loss of retarded response of the system. The method is good for many applications with time delay.
