Abstract
Harmonic estimation of a signal disturbance with additive noise has been an area of interest for researchers in many science and engineering. In this paper, a new technique which can estimate harmonic based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is presented. Its fundamental idea is to simulate the behavior of the swarm in nature to construct the stochastic optimization algorithm. The identification algorithms based PSO and improved PSO (IPSO) are proposed to estimate the amplitude and phase of harmonic at the same time. Simulation results show that identification parameters based IPSO have faster convergence and higher accuracy than that based on PSO.
