Abstract :
In this paper, we report on a structural and magnetic investigation of a series of Co-doped La0.4Sr0.6TiO3-δ DMS nanocrystals synthesized by a solvothermal technique [3] and subsequently treated by a high-temperature (800°C) annealing in Ar atmosphere. We found that no secondary phases or contaminations could be detected for samples with Co dopant concentration below 5 at %, indicating that the observed ferromagnetic signals are intrinsic in this strongly correlated system. The origin of magnetism could be correlated to the ferromagnetic coupling of Co dopant via the local charge-compensating oxygen vacancy F-center, which is different from the case of Co-doped ZnO [2,3].
