Abstract
Fingerprint based security systems are implemented for secure access at various levels. Liveness detection is an emerging challenge in the field of fingerprint biometrics. We investigated a novel method of detection of active sweat pores on fingertip images as a sign of liveness. In this paper, performance of newly developed image processing algorithm based on High-Pass and Correlation filtering (HCFA) technique for active pore detection is presented for four different threshold levels at the binarization stage.
