Abstract
In this paper, we present advance angle value for maximum torque of the low voltage high current switched reluctance motor for a fork lift truck. SRM has positive torque at increasing inductance region and negative torque at decreasing inductance region. Advance angle control is used for the high torque. It needs to build up current before inductance increases and on the contrary needs to drop the phase current before inductance decreases. Because the SRM consumes much current, we use the modified C-dump converter to drive the SRM. When the C-dump converter is applied, the capacitance of dump C must have proper value for energy storage and current dropping. To show the good performance of the proposed values, we present the simulation result
