Abstract
A new bandpass source excitation scheme is presented which consists of a modified Fourier function and has a rectangular spectrum for FDTD analysis of waveguide discontinuity. The new source can filter out all undesired frequency components. With this excitation scheme, the whole system under investigation can perform under a pre-designed optimal frequency band
