Abstract :
The dwelling, as the earliest building type in history, was influenced by particular region, climate, environment, life style and so on, and had formed various characteristics. Over the vast territory of China, there are a wide range of and different structural styles. Natural light, as an indispensable part of Chinese traditional dwelling, is worth sorting out and generalizing carefully. It is not only a positive response to the low-carbon society of today, but also helpful for us to research and re-emphasis natural light on the basis of understanding local buildings, excavating the value of natural light in depth from traditional and making use of it.
