Abstract :
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have excellent performance in field emission [1-3]; they can be used as field emission (FE) cold cathodes. The traditional FE cold cathode is difficult to apply to the microwave electronic devices. In this paper, we used thermal chemical vapor deposition to synthesize CNTs directly on the surface of traditional thermal-cathode by self-heated. The result proved that the field emission properties of CNT cathode prepared by new way were excellent stable.
