Abstract :
This paper aims to research on the evolvement of the urban green space. Via using the data of remote sensing image and GIS, this paper extracts the information about Nanjing urban green land distribution of three different time-sections, 1966, 1981 and 2004 respectively. Then to do the quantitative and quantitative research on the evolvement of Nanjing urban green space system from the angles of scales, functions and structures. It shows that, in the past 40 years, the green land structure gradually isolated to be small islands; and the scales dropped down rapidly. However, the Xuanwu Lake Park and the Zijin Mountain scenic woodland still maintained the basic structure of green space system in Nanjing urban area.
