Abstract :
The reliability prediction methodology of the gasket sealing is proposed in this paper where the linear and nonlinear behavior gaskets are studied, respectively. The normal distribution is used for all quantities involved based on the fact that the sealing in discussion is a static one. For the nonlinear behavior gaskets, the gasket load has to be determined by a numerical approach, and a conservative estimation to the standard deviation of the gasket load is derived. Several examples are presented to illustrate the methodology.
