Abstract :
This paper presents a design approach of model-based PI feedback torque control for Spark Ignition (SI) engines. A PI feedback controller is presented using a mean value engine model as the feed forward term. The stability of the proposed controller is analyzed using Lyapunov theory. Finally, simulations are conducted on a benchmark simulator and the results are shown to demonstrate the controller.
