Abstract :
An improvement in lightning discharge modeling of negative first strokes using new approximations of multi-peaked channel-base currents is presented in this paper. New functions for representing lightning currents include initial and subsidiary peaks in their waveforms. Better agreement of the magnetic field computation results with experimentally measured at different distances from the lightning channel-base is achieved.
