Abstract :
One of the key points in the evaluation of risks associated to cyber threats in power control systems is how to find enough evidence for assigning probabilities to cyber threat occurrences and consequent failure modes. The paper discusses (i) the possibility of conducting controlled experiments on power control testbeds in order to collect otherwise unavailable data related to cyber misbehaviours in power system operation; (ii) the key features of the testbed developed by the CESI RICERCA laboratory together with sample measurements from experiments; (iii) a research agenda of activities for connecting the measurements from experiments to model-based analysis and risk assessment frameworks quantifying the impact of cyber failures on power control functions.
