Abstract :
In a period of Transition, the booming of New Town construction is new round of revolution for Chinese urban development. The fact of New town construction is not new at all. So, it needs both practical experiments and in-depth study to accumulate to obtain experiences. Therefore, this paper put forward two breakthrough points that the revolution of new town construction and planning theory, explore the implications for sustainable urban planning and design point of view in five stages by recalling the knowledge of planning history.
