Abstract
This paper details practical, engineering based solutions for the reliability engineer and logistician. It focuses chiefly on the defense industry, but the analysis techniques discussed apply equally to rail, air and other industries. The paper investigates the current methodology employed to assess sustainability, supportability and costs. It then argues for a more practical and accurate method of dealing with these problems and other related difficulties faced by those working in the logistic area.
