  • Abstract
Summary form only given. The understanding of a competition problem between difference modes in magnetrons it is important for improving the parameters and operations of given tubes. In this paper, the analysis of mode competition taking place in the interaction space of an oven magnetron is presented. To do this, computer modeling of the electron-wave interaction was carried out by the particle-in-cell (PIC) method, including a spectral approach that permits us to study the excitation mechanism of unwanted modes in a wide frequency range. Computer modeling of the electron-wave interaction is carried out in 2D approximation and takes into account all the interaction space of the magnetron (multi-periodical model). The obtained results connected with the computer modeling of the mode competition in magnetrons allow us to make clear the physical mechanism and features of this phenomena.
