Abstract :
In this paper, we study application of the novel reduced implementation complexity decoding algorithm - Log-MAP Delta to decoding serial concatenated convolutional codes (SCCC). We present BER performance results in an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel and compare the new algorithm against optimal Log-MAP and low complexity Max-Log-MAP decoding. Results show that the Log-MAP Delta algorithm performs with only a slight degradation compared to the Log-MAP while bringing substantial complexity savings.
